Penultimate stage of new standard steered by MobileAware.

DUBLIN, Ireland - 23 October 2008 - MobileAware, a leading provider of Mobile Customer and Employee Self Service solutions, today welcomed this month's W3C publication of the Proposed Recommendation of the Device Description Repository Simple API, the penultimate stage of the process of making this new technology a full Web standard.

MobileAware has the honor of chairing the W3C's working group responsible for creating the new technology.

Welcoming the publication, MobileAware's Chief Innovations Architect, Dr Rotan Hanrahan, chair of the DDWG observed: "the new technology continues to gather industry support, and its full adoption as a Web standard will be very welcome, especially in the mobile Web."

The new API will appear in future MobileAware products, after final ratification by the W3C.
